WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.), announced that four Monterey County Fire Departments received a grant totaling $853,694 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration. Awardees include the Seaside Fire Department, Gonzales Fire Department, Greenfield Fire Protection District, and Mid Coast Fire Brigade. This grant is made under the Fiscal Year 2016 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program, and will be used for communications tools to enhance inter-operability.

WASHINGTON – Today, Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-20), Anna Eshoo (CA-18), and Jackie Speier (CA-14) released the following update on the Federal Aviation Administration's response to address the issue of noise from air traffic in their Congressional Districts.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-20) joined Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI-01) and 192 of their House colleagues yesterday in reintroducing the Equality Act, which would provide explicit, permanent protections against discrimination for LGBT people in matters of employment, housing, access to public places, federal funding, credit, education and jury service. It would also prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in federal funding and access to public places.
