WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) announced today that Fort Ord Reuse Authority (FORA) has received a $6.8 million Environmental Services Cooperative Agreement (ESCA) grant amendment from the United States Army for munitions removal reporting and related long-term stewardship. The grant amendment will fund administrative and regulatory oversight costs for two years and Army post-transfer munitions obligations through 2028.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) today led 21 of his colleagues in sending a bipartisan letter to House Appropriations Committee Chairman Rodney P. Frelinghuysen (R-NJ) and Ranking Member Nita M. Lowey (D-NY), encouraging them to include a flood risk measure in legislation funding hurricane recovery efforts that ensures federally-financed infrastructure projects are designed to better withstand future storms.

Eshoo (CA-18), Jackie Speier (CA-14), and Jimmy Panetta (CA-20) released the updated final version of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) response to recommendations made by the San Francisco Airport/Community Roundtable and the Select Committee on South Bay Arrivals.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.), along with his fellow Members of the House of Representatives and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), wrote U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary David Shulkin to request that the agency annually share information on the number of veterans who struggle with food insecurity. Beginning November 1, 2017, the VA started collecting information regarding food insecurity among veterans, agency-wide.

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-20) recently met with United States Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue. The Secretary was in California over the weekend for a visit to the Central Valley. Congressman Panetta and Congressman Jim Costa (D-CA-16) met with Secretary Perdue at a farm owned by 21-year-old Mark Cavallero in Madera County. Mr. Cavallero is a 2017 National FFA Organization American Star Farmer finalist.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) announced that California FarmLink, located in Aptos, will receive a federal grant totaling $930,000 from the U.S. Department of Treasury. The funds are awarded through the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, which provides access to capital for low-income entrepreneurs in economically distressed communities.
