Project to be completed by August 2020

WATSONVILLE — Dozens of people gathered in a grassy field abutting Pajaro Valley High School Monday for a groundbreaking ceremony to herald in the construction that will bring the school's long awaited athletic facility.

"Today is a day of celebration," Pajaro Valley Unified School District Superintendent Michelle Rodriguez said. "Today is a day of equity for our students, specifically equity for Pajaro Valley High School students, to ensure they have the facilities they need."

SALINAS, CA – Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel Valley) announced today that the San Benito Health Foundation has received a federal grant totaling $2,493,435.00 from the Department of Health and Human Services.

"Community health centers and clinics are integral to our region's health care system," said Congressman Panetta. "These funds will help the San Benito Health Foundation to continue to provide their patients with quality health education and preventative services, and to promote healthy lifestyles."

Fifty adults took the oath of citizenship earlier this month in a ceremony at Cesar Chavez Library, and were delighted to have Congressman Jimmy Panetta make the opening remarks as the keynote speaker and share his personal immigration story. The Library partners regularly with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to host their Naturalization Oath Ceremony, and also offer information sessions.
