WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel Valley) announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a federal grant totaling $1,663,670.25 to Monterey County for Palo Colorado roadway repairs. The funds will reimburse Monterey County for repairs related to the severe winter storms that took place in February 2017.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (CA-20), Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17), and Congresswoman Kim Schrier (WA-08) – all members of the House Agriculture Committee – introduced legislation to authorize a five percent annual funding increase over the next five years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The America Grows Act restores U.S. commitment to publicly-funded agriculture research, while most domestic agriculture research has declined. Companion legislation has been introduced in the U.S. Senate by Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL).
