SALINAS, CA – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel Valley) cosponsored the Paycheck Protection Program Extension Act to significantly expand the Small Business Administration's (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to ensure that every qualified small business is able to access the critical assistance they need to retain their workforce and cover basic operating costs for the full duration of the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic. The lawmakers urged Pelosi and McCarthy to require that employers protect workers on the job while providing them with hazard pay in future COVID-19 legislation.
