Pajaro River Project
March 30, 2022

SALINAS, CA – Today, U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel Valley) announced that he secured $67 million in federal funding for the Pajaro River Flood Risk Management Project. This funding is from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that was supported by Congressman Panetta and signed into law by President Joe Biden in the Fall of 2021.

SALINAS, CA – Today, Rep. Jimmy Panetta announced that the Commerce Department's Economic Development Administration (EDA) is awarding a $4 million American Rescue Plan Travel, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation program grant to the city of Santa Cruz, California, to develop new arts and entertainment infrastructure within the Tannery Arts Center and increase tourism to the region.

SALINAS, CA – Today, Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) announced that $540,000 from the 2022 budget package will go to the Santa Cruz Port District to help cover the cost of its annual maintenance dredging. Rep. Panetta worked with both the House and Senate Appropriations Committees to secure this request on behalf of the Santa Cruz Harbor Port Commission. The funding will be used to maintain the commercial and recreational safety of this historic harbor on the Central Coast.

SALINAS, CA – Today, Rep. Jimmy Panetta announced that our congressional district received $14.9 million in funding from the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Emergency Connectivity Fund Program (ECF). The ECF program, which was created as part of the American Rescue Plan, helps schools and libraries ensure that students can connect to the internet at home, allowing them to take advantage of online learning and do their homework. The funding has been allocated to school districts that Congressman Panetta represents in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito.
