WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representatives Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), Anna Eshoo (CA-16), Ro Khanna (CA-17), and Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) announced that the California Department of Housing and Community Development will distribute $605,985 in federal funding to Santa Clara County from the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – United States Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) and Brian Mast (FL-21), together with a bipartisan coalition, introduced the bipartisan Wounded Warrior Bill of Rights to cut through red tape, improve transparency and increase accountability for wounded warriors.  The bill would ensure veterans are able to effectively appeal decisions made regarding their medical separation from service and entitlement to disability benefits.

Washington, DC – United States Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Robert Aderholt (AL-04), Dina Titus (NV-01), Darin LaHood (IL-16), and Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) introduced the bipartisan Kazakhstan Permanent Normal Trade Relations Act of 2023.  This legislation would repeal the Soviet-era Jackson-Vanik Amendment which denies Kazakhstan permanent normal trade relations (PNTR) with the United States, based on obsolete reasoning.

Monterey, CA – United States Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) and Lori Chavez-Deremer (OR-05) reintroduced the First Responders’ Care Expansion (FRCE) Act to lower the Medicare enrollment age for classified first responders to 57.  The lawmakers reintroduced this legislation during National Police Week.

Monterey, CA – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) reintroduced the Wildfire Emergency Act to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires in the American West, through forest restoration, investments in critical infrastructure, and training.  Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has reintroduced companion legislation.

Monterey, CA – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) applauded the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announcement of a $128 million Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) loan to the City of Santa Cruz to upgrade its drinking water system to be more resilient to drought and climate change.  Santa Cruz will be able to better protect its water supply and deliver safe, reliable drinking water for nearly 100,000 residents.

Washington, DC – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) and a bipartisan congressional delegation led by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (CA-20) visited Israel to celebrate and mark 75 years of independence.  The trip lasted from April 30 to May 2, 2023.


May 15, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Reps. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), Lisa McClain (R-MI), Vern Buchanan (R-FL), and Chris Pappas (D-NH) introduced the STOP CCP Act. This legislation would require financial and visa sanctions on members of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. The STOP CCP Act also states that the CCP and General Secretary Xi Jinping have committed numerous human rights violations, including genocide.
