Monterey, CA – Today, U.S. Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) and Zoe Lofgren (CA-18) and announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will distribute $300,000 to the Community Housing Improvement Systems and Planning Association, Inc. (CHISPA) to support repairs of multi-family homes for rural, low-income families in Monterey County.

Santa Cruz, CA – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) secured $633,334 in federal funding for Cabrillo College’s ongoing work to improve student wellbeing through a one-stop NEST Resource Center.  Funding was secured through the U.S. Department of Education’s Basic Needs - Supporting Student Success Program.

San Jose, CA – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) announced the winner of California’s 19th District’s 2023 Congressional App Challenge.  Caitlynn Sue, a student from Leland High School in San Jose received first place for her app, “Oakli”.  Caitlynn will also be invited to the 2023 #HouseofCode Event in Washington D.C. in the Spring of 2024, as well as having the honor of her work being displayed at the U.S. Capitol for the remainder of the 118th Congress.

Monterey, CA – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) was recognized for his leadership in Congress on improving access and oversight of hospice and palliative care by the Hospice Action Network (HAN), the advocacy affiliate group of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO).  Rep. Panetta received this honor alongside President Jimmy Carter and nine Congressional leaders for their work amplifying the voices of patients, families, and providers.

Monterey, CA – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) wrote a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in support of Monterey County’s appeal of the agency’s decision to deny more than $1.5 million in reimbursements for the County’s emergency road and culvert repairs following the 2020 Carmel Fire.  Rep. Zoe Lofgren (CA-18) joined Rep. Panetta as a signatory of the letter.
