Washington, D.C. – The bipartisan, bicameral Supporting Early-Childhood Educators’ Deductions (SEED) Act, introduced by U.S. Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), was voted unanimously out of the House Committee on Ways and Means today. This is the first Democrat-led stand-alone bill to receive a mark-up in the Committee on Ways and Means. The legislation now heads to the House Floor for a vote before the full House of Representatives.
United States Representative Jimmy Panetta has submitted funding requests for important community projects in California's 19th Congressional District to the House Appropriations Committee.
Under guidelines issued by the Appropriations Committee, each Representative may request funding for up to 20 projects in their community for fiscal year 2027, although only a handful may actually be funded. Projects are restricted to a limited number of federal funding streams, and only state and local governments and eligible non-profit entities are permitted to receive funding.
