SALINAS, CA – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel Valley) announced the distribution of $5,973,491 in federal government grants for federal housing programs in California's 20th Congressional District to help respond to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The funding for these grants comes from the recently passed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which Congressman Panetta supported on July 17, 2020, and through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grants (CDBG).
