Watsonville, CA – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Carmel Valley) announced that he secured $50,000 in federal U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) funding for El Pájaro Community Development Corporation (CDC). This funding will be used to support El Pájaro CDC's "Expanding Opportunities for Food and Farming Entrepreneurs Program," which will provide technical assistance to small food and farming businesses in rural Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito counties.

This funding will provide the necessary resources for the design, engineering, construction, and construction management of the newly relocated Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Facility at the Monterey Regional Airport.
