An attack ad against Central Coast Congressman Jimmy Panetta has been making the rounds, both on TV and social media.But the ad leaves several things unclear, like who's running the ad, why, and what any of that has to do with Jimmy Panetta.
The first part of the ad says, "Our congressman Jimmy Panetta is proposing to improve the trump tax bill for the two billionaire brothers who own two mega-yachts."
After the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control told consumers on Thursday not to eat romaine lettuce from the Salinas Valley in California due to illnesses from E. coli O157, the head of the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement (LGMA) and Rep. Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif., both said they were devastated by the news and would work with the FDA and the CDC to try to figure out the root cause of the outbreak.

The city of Watsonville hosted a conference Monday to discuss data from the 25th Community Assessment Project, an annual report by United Way of Santa Cruz County that highlights multiple factors that improve or worsen the quality of life for county residents.
