Santa Clara County House Reps Announce $2.8 million for County HIV/AIDs Health Services
SAN JOSE, CA – Today, U.S. Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), Anna Eshoo (CA-16), and Ro Khanna (CA-17) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will provide Santa Clara County with $2,819,898 in funding to support HIV emergency relief efforts for low-income individuals and minority populations.
"Because not everyone in our community has access to health services, the federal government can help close the gaps," said Reps. Panetta, Lofgren, Eshoo, and Khanna. "This funding from HHS will allow Santa Clara County residents with HIV/AIDS to receive the medicine and care they need. We will continue to fight for these programs to keep Californians healthy and uplift every community group."
The funding will cover enhanced care for individuals with HIV/AIDS and provide support to those with little to no health insurance. This grant will fund services such drug and pharmaceutical assistance, oral health care, nutritional therapy, hospice services, mental health and substance abuse services, and other related services.
