Panetta Statement on Las Vegas Shooting
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.) issued the following statement about last night's shooting in Las Vegas that claimed 58 lives and injured more than 500 people, the worst mass shooting in our nation's history:
"Our nation mourns the victims of the violence that occurred last night in Las Vegas. For the survivors and loved ones of the deceased, the horrific events that unfolded are a nightmare that will forever impact their lives. For Congress, it is yet another wake up call to do something to prevent a senseless attack like this from happening ever again. The American people deserve for Congress to finally put politics aside, work together, and come up with solutions to stop this gun violence epidemic. It is our obligation."
