Panetta Announces Federal Grants for Mesa Del Rey and Monterey Regional Airports
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.), announced that two local airports received federal grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration. Mesa Del Rey Airport received funds totaling $138,000 to be used for runway improvements and rehabilitation. Monterey Regional Airport received funds totaling $50,000 to study their participation in the Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program.
“These grants are important investments in our region’s transportation infrastructure, creating jobs and ensuring safe passage for all cargo and pilots,” said Congressman Panetta. “Making sure our airports are fully operative is essential for the success of our local economy.”
