Mobile Office Hours

I am holding mobile constituent services hours in cities across our Congressional District. Congressional staff members will be available to assist with issues concerning Social Security, Medicare, federal employee retirement, immigration services, veterans' services, passports, searching for military records, and any other federal matters. Mobile office hours are an opportunity for members of the community to meet with Congressional staff, and are offered in addition to meetings in my Salinas and Santa Cruz Congressional offices.

To reserve your appointment, please contact my Monterey District Office.

NO MOBILE OFFICE HOURS ARE BEING HELD AT THIS TIME

For now and in accordance with the guidance by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), State of California, and local counties, I am issuing a temporary safety protocol and new hours for my Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Washington, D.C. offices. The goal behind these provisional policies is to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus and keep community members and staff safe, but at the same time, maintain consistent and uninterrupted service to the constituents in the congressional district on the central coast of California. Constituents will continue to receive the same service from my congressional staff with the help of new work strategies that reflect the current public health issues.

The policy is mainly based on the recommendations by the CDC on "social distancing," which advises individuals to put several feet of distance between each other to reduce transmission risk, particularly when in groups or in settings with little air circulation. Moreover, if you are sick, please stay home. Staff will continue to practice good public health measures like frequent hand washing and would request that visitors to abide by a "no handshake policy" in our offices to minimize contact. Ample soap, hand sanitizer, and cleaning materials also are available in all offices to both staff and constituents.

Monterey and Santa Cruz Office Hours and Policy: Beginning on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the offices in Salinas and Santa Cruz will remain open from 9:00 a.m. PST to 5:00 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday, but with reduced staffing and a new protocol that prevents walk-in visits. Staff will continue to answer phones and meet with constituents, but only with a scheduled appointment. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call the Salinas office at 831-424-2229 or the Santa Cruz office at 831-429-1976. If you have a scheduled meeting at either office, but would prefer to speak with staff over the phone, please call and let us know.

We will review and adjust these policies as necessary and attempt to give you as much notice as possible when there are further changes. Thank you for your understanding and patience, and please do not hesitate to contact me or my staff if you have any questions.
