I am committed to rebuilding the middle class and creating job opportunities for our community members. I am working to:
- Build out high speed internet service in rural areas to help entrepreneurs succeed
- Raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour
- Close the gender wage gap
- Repeal policies that undermine the right of workers to collectively bargain
- Expand federal job training programs
Through my Committee assignments, I am in a unique position to advance our Central Coast values. The Ways and Means and the Budget Committees are at the center of our work in Congress to create an economic environment that fosters prosperity for all of our communities, and the Agriculture Committee helps set trade policies that benefit our district, including those that expand exports for agriculture, our number one industry.
