Santa Clara County Reps Announce an Additional $27.2M+ in Federal Funding for COVID-19-Related Expenditures
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representatives Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), Anna Eshoo (CA-16), and Ro Khanna (CA-17) announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is reimbursing Santa Clara County for an additional $27,243,534.79 for emergency protective costs incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Santa Clara County officials enacted emergency protective measures to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our community members. We’re very pleased to see additional federal reimbursements making their way to the County and will continue working together to ensure our communities receive the funding and reimbursements they are entitled to,” said Reps. Panetta, Lofgren, Eshoo, and Khanna.
This funding was provided by the Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, which authorizes FEMA’s disaster response activities and programming. In May 2024, Reps. Panetta, Lofgren, Eshoo, and Khanna announced more than $65 million in federal funding for Santa Clara County for additional COVID-19-related expenditures.
